What does "folk" really stand for ? There are so many appreciations of this word that we could easily pretend such labels don't mean much after all. Will you sound folk because you are traditional, acoustic, sensitive, genuine, intimist ?... The choice is pretty wide - but still, there is a common vision, a link between these different approaches.

"Tell Me Why" is the beginning of an answer. Putting together 18 tracks that could all claim their folk loyalties, this record shows a great diversity of songwritings and voices while keeping the expectations high. That's why it's not just another compilation : it's an album, articulate and coherent, and it tells the story of what folk music was in the early years of the 21st century.

Pulsar is in France, so we wanted to highlight the ability of this not-so-big country to engender beautiful anglophone music. But as we never meant to respect national barriers, we got some greetings from Canada, Great Britain (including our totem Sparky Deathcap).. and of course the USA, eternal home of the folk lovers.
